Are you looking for real estate listings in Delaware? If you are, join the crowd! Even with the economy being the way it is, home sales in Delaware have for the most part remained steady, mostly due to the flood of folks from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York flooding across the border for lower taxes, and better schools!
Here are a couple of important factors to keep in mind when looking for real estate listings in Delaware:
Do you have a Delaware real estate agent that you can trust? If you’ve ever gone through with a real estate transaction before, you know just how valuable having the right agent working for you can be. Having an agent on your side that knows the area, rules, and the ins and outs is a HUGE advantage and one that you definitely shouldn’t gloss over. Whether you are a buyer or seller, you should always assume that the person that you are buying or selling to will have an agent working hard for them, and you should as well.
Do you know what area you want to live in? Real estate in Delaware is divided into 3 counties that are separate and unique for many reasons:
- New Castle County – This is the “industrial” part of the state for the lack of a better word. Most of the big businesses, and the hustle and bustle can be found in New Castle County. So, if you are looking to be close to some of the highest paying jobs in the state and “city life” New Castle County is just what you are looking for.
- Kent County – Kent County is located in the middle of the state, and is home of the capital of Delaware, Dover. While Kent County does have some of the “city” benefits, it also has plenty of “open area” and is a little bit slower, which is perfect for raising a family, and being centrally located.
- Sussex County – This is where you will find all of the beaches that Delaware is famous for. Rehobeth Beach, Lewes Beach, Dewey Beach, and several other small beaches are located in Sussex county. In addition to the beautiful beaches, there is also an abundance of open land, which means it’s not quite as crowded as some of the other areas in the state.
As you can see, the three counties each offer their own unique benefits, and between the three of them, and the fact that the state itself is so small, you are well within reach of just about any sort of activity you could possibly imagine.
Do you know what kind of real estate listings in Delaware you’re looking for? The housing market in Delaware is fairly diverse, so there is a huge selection of single family homes, Condos, Manufactured Housing, Modular Homes, Duplexes, Beach Front Homes, and free land to build your own dream home on.
While it might seem like finding the right real estate listings in Delaware is a complicated process, it really isn’t, BUT the things that I listed above are definitely things that you should keep in mind and consider. Each and every one of the “tough” questions can be handled more efficiently and with far less stress by interviewing and selecting a Delaware real estate agent that you can trust.
